Last year, 70.3 world champion (2007) and three-time Ironman world champion (2010, 2013, 2014) Mirinda Carfrae took fifth place at Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga. This year, the newly-retired pro is taking what she learned about the course and the competition and giving us the inside scoop on the 2023 edition.

Ahead of this weekend’s race in Tennessee, Carfrae and former pro Patrick McKeon chat about the stacked field, which includes past Chatty champions Jackie Hering and Skye Moench, along with Sarah True, Paula Findlay, and Rach McBride. In this video, Carfrae and Mckeon break down the weather conditions, the course features, the way the race will likely play out, and reveal their favorites to take the tape.
