Bell Javelin

The Draw: Excellent value for race day

The Javelin is your no-nonsense, classic race-day aero infusion. It only comes in black or white, and it is no flyweight, but it is clear that the sole purpose of this helmet is speed. Fortunately, speed comes in an affordable package here. The fit is akin to a fighter pilot helmet—snug, but not so much as to feel claustrophobic. There’s even room under the visor for prescription glasses, depending on frame size, which is unique for this category. While the Javelin is all business on the outside, Bell included a soft wicking fabric on the inside of the ear panels, which sit snug against your cheeks when tucked into the aero bars.
