Great Britain’s Will Clarke has expressed frustration over the fact that he will likely not know his Olympic fate until only a couple of months before the 2012 Olympic Games.
Will Clarke is far from happy at being made to wait to find out if he will be included in the Great Britain squad for next summer’s Olympic Games.
Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, ranked number one and two in the world, will be announced as the first two participants on the team on September 23.
Clarke is currently ranked eighth in the world and has finished in the top four of two World Series events this year, but his selection in the Team GB squad is by no means assured and he will have to wait until June to find out whether he makes the squad.
“It’s a pain to be honest because I would like to go in to the winter knowing that I’m going (to the Olympics),” Clarke said.
“I’d like to have that one goal in mind but now I have two goals that I have to achieve. It’s not ideal but that’s the way that the selection policy was written and I have to deal with it. I just have to get on with it now and do my best.”
