The 2012 Trek/K-Swiss triathlon team features a couple of significant absences and one exciting addition.

No longer on the team are Great Britain’s Julie Dibens and the United States’ Heather Jackson. Jackson has moved on with sponsorship deals from Cannondale and Zoot Sports. Dibens will remain a Trek-sponsored athlete and has yet to announce any sponsorship plans for footwear and apparel.

The addition to the team is Australia’s Rebekah Keat. Keat, who also recently announced that she will be coached by Siri Lindley in 2012, was formerly a member of Brett Sutton’s TeamTBB.

Fraser Cartmell (SCO), Joe Gambles (AUS), Chris Lieto (USA), Matt Lieto (USA) and Paul Matthews (AUS) will return for their third year on the team. Lesley Paterson (SCO) will enter her second year as a Trek/K-Swiss athlete.

“The team going forward is a tremendous opportunity for two brands to work together and promote the sport,” said K-Swiss’ Bryan Ogle. “We continue to seek out the finest athletes that fit into that model.”

Another addition to the Trek/K-Swiss team in 2012 is the presence of Campagnolo. The Italian manufacturer of high-end bike parts will work with the team as part of its push to enter the triathlon market.
