The annual NBC broadcast of the Ironman World Championship will celebrate its 25th anniversary this Saturday, Dec. 10 at 2:20 p.m. ET. The broadcast, with is largely credited with exposing the sport of triathlon to new audiences, will recap the professional race as well as tell the stories of some of the inspirational age-group athletes who competed on Oct. 8 in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.

The 90-minute features footage from more than 30 cameras that captured the action from the Hawaiian blue skies, across the barren lava fields and under the water of Kailua Bay during the 140.6-mile challenge. Longtime sportscaster Al Trautwig will again narrate the annual special. A programming fixture on NBC since 1991, the special has garnered more than 50 Emmy Award nominations and won 16 Emmys along with many other accolades.
