We’re officially less than 30 days out from the Ironman World Championship and in that honor, Competitor Radio will be running 30 of our favorite interviews with Ironman World Champions.

Mark Allen is known as The Grip and in 1997 he proved why when he came from way off the pace to catch and pass Thomas Hellriegel of Germany in the last few miles of the marathon to win his sixth and last Ironman title. This interview is from September 2008 when Huddle and I chatted with The Grip.
