Corinne Abraham had calf issues starting three weeks before last year’s Ironman World Championship race. She only ran three times in those three weeks, and contemplated flying home and not racing. Instead, she raced – and made up six minutes on the front pack during the bike and came off in T2 in third place. When she started the marathon, she had no idea if she could even finish. Yet the indomitable Brit ended up ninth – and would love to move up even further in this year’s race.
