Defending champion Jan Frodeno once again impressed on the Ironman World Championship course, putting together a 48:02 swim, 4:29:00 bike and a 2:45:34 marathon to earn the victory in 8:06:30. After the race, Frodeno said that he didn’t feel great for most of the day and had to dig very deep to get the victory.
