The March/April issue of Inside Triathlon is full of high performance training tips and secrets.

Take, for example, the story on coach Darren Smith and his squad of elite ITU athletes, which is filled with tidbits that any age grouper can use in his or her daily triathlon life.

Indeed, the writer of the story, Inside Triathlon editor-in-chief Courtney Baird, put the tips to good use in her own training after she got home from her trip from Sedona, Ariz., where she followed Smith and his two assistant coaches around for a few days. Once home she began to implement some of Smith’s swimming pointers and practice some of his suggested drills. She has noticed a big difference in her stroke and her ability to swim efficiently—and she comes from a swim background.

Inside Triathlon editor-at-large Holly Bennett’s profile on cover models Greg and Laura Bennett, two of the most successful Olympic-distance triathletes in history and triathlon’s most successful couple, is also filled with useful insights about our sport. The story goes into great depth on the Bennetts’ shared approach to racing—an approach that, if adopted, can help any triathlete of any ability reach his or her racing goals. It is an approach that Laura, in particular, will use as she attempts to qualify for her second Olympic team—a saga that Inside Triathlon is covering as part of its continued effort to be your most trusted source for all things Olympics.

Former Ironman pro and Inside Triathlon contributing writer Torbjørn Sindballe’s story on how to implement the proper peak and have the race of your life also aligns with Inside Triathlon’s emphasis on high performance.

In the story Sindballe analyzes Terenzo Bozzone’s 2006 course record at the Wildflower Long Course Triathlon, a race that has been attempted by practically every great iron-distance athlete our sport has seen. What did Bozzone do in the lead-up to this race that allowed him to have the performance of his life thus far? And what can you learn from it? Pick up the issue, which is on newsstands now, to find out.

Inside Triathlon’s focus on high performance doesn’t end there. T.J. Murphy talks about movement and biomechanics in the March/April issue—and why you should focus on these two aspects of your training just as much as you do swimming, biking and running.

These are just some of the stories that can be enjoyed in the March/April issue, on newsstands now.
