The 70.3 Maine course
The race will be a perfect venue for the race, both from an aesthetic standpoint and a physical one. The 70. Maine course features a fast 1.2-mile downriver swim in the Kennebec River, a 56 mile bike offering a mix of climbs and descents, and a 13.1-mile run along the canopy tree-lined Kennebec River Rail Trail.
70.3 Maine livestream: Who to watch
Mollie Hebda, fresh off the top step of the podium at the Armed Forces Triathlon Championship, will turn her attention to long-course racing this weekend. Her last outing at this distance was last fall at 70.3 Los Cabos, where she placed third. Can she pull off her first-ever win as a pro triathlete in Maine? To do it, she’ll have to beat the likes of Sarah Bishop (second and third at 70.3 Waco and Augusta, respectively), and Nicole Falcaro.
The men’s pro race is headlined by defending champion Justin Metzler, who most recently placed third at 70.3 Coeur d’Alene. He’ll get some exciting competition from bike-run monster Trevor Foley, who placed third at last weekend’s 70.3 Oregon. Will the back-to-back racing be too much for Foley, or is he just getting warmed up for a win?
