Gator That Attacked Florida Triathlete Captured Today

A gator that tops out at more than 10 feet long has been captured from the lake where a Florida man was attacked over the weekend.

The gator, which was found in East Orange County’s Lake Mary Jane Tuesday morning, fits the size and behavior profile of the alligator described by the bite victim. Doug McCard was training for a triathlon Sunday when a gator clamped onto his torso, but he managed to swim away.
