In honor of the holiday shopping season officially kicking off, we’re giving away products from Triathlete magazine’s Holiday Gift Guide (on newsstands now). Check out the Day 6 giveaway below.

Day 6 (Wednesday, Nov. 28):

For day 6 of our 12 Days of Holiday Giveaways, we’re giving away a Blueseventy Transition Bag ($100, Blueseventy.com). This durable bag has a spot for almost everything tri, including a waterproof pocket for your wetsuit. The winner will also receive a Triathlete magazine race belt.

To win today’s giveaway, you’ll have to be a little creative. We’re looking for the best haiku about why you tri. If you don’t remember from high school English, a haiku is a three-line poem, with the first line containing seven syllables, the second line five syllables and the third line seven syllables. Update: It has been pointed out to us that the true format of a haiku is 5-7-5, not 7-5-7 as we previously stated. We will accept either format. We apologize for the error!

Here are two examples:

Example 1:
Why I tri? For abs of steel
Lean legs and strong tush
That will fit in my new jeans

Example 2:
Not because I care to win
But to prove that I
Am strong enough to finish

Post your haiku in the comments section of this post below, and the editors will choose our favorite. Answers posted on the Triathlete Facebook page will not count. Entries must be posted by Thursday, Nov. 29 at Noon PST. The winner will be announced on this page by 5 p.m. PST the same day.

UPDATED: Congratulations to Mike Shosted who submitted the following Haiku to earn the prize:

Who and What You Really Are.
