Graham Averill is Outside magazine’s national parks columnist, but some of his favorite adventures have happened inside state parks. He’s explored coastal sand dunes and crystalline springs in Florida state parks, navigated miles of singletrack in Utah’s state parks, and, in a South Carolina state park, fought off a feisty raccoon that was stealing his cooler.
