Bare Coconut Chips
The coconut-loving Triathlete staff couldn’t get enough of these all-natural baked slivers of coconut—they’re perfectly crunchy and sweet. The five flavors range from simply Toasted to spicy Sweet and Heat, and are all made with seven or fewer whole-food ingredients. The original and honey flavors are tasty mixed into yogurt or sprinkled over oatmeal, while the more exotic flavors can spice up homemade trail mix—or be devoured straight out of the bag. Each half-cup serving contains 150 calories, 16 grams of carbohydrates and 3 grams of dietary fiber. $1.99–$2.49 for 1.4-ounce bag, Baresnacks.com

Taste Nirvana Real Coconut Water
While you may assume all coconut water tastes the same, there’s a noticeable difference in Taste Nirvana—it has a smoother flavor with less artificial-tasting sweetness. The company would argue the difference comes from its source—coconuts grown in Thailand on trees at least five years old—making it naturally sweeter and lower in sugar (12 grams per bottle). The not-from-concentrate drink (which tastes best cold and comes in a glass bottle) is also packed with electrolytes: 400 milligrams of potassium and 60 milligrams of sodium. While our staff liked the original flavor best, you can also try Coco Aloe (mixed with aloe vera), Coconut Pulp (with small pieces of coconut) or the spiced-up Coconut Water with Thai Chili Extract. $2.19 for 9.5 ounces, Tastenirvana.com

Achiva Native Energy Beans
Made from dehydrated coconut water and chia seeds, these unique “beans” contain a short list of ingredients and fuel you naturally with 80 calories, 10 grams of carbs and 2 grams of protein per 0.7-ounce single-serve pack. The coconut water and sea salt also provide more than 100 milligrams each of sodium and potassium. We appreciated that the grainy coating keeps them from sticking together or to the package. The four flavors (staff-favorite mango, pomegranate, caffeinated chai tea and caffeinated raspberry green tea) all taste like dried fruit—natural and not too sugary. $1.50 for single-serve pack, Achivaenergy.com
