Win or lose here on Saturday, Ironman champion Skye Moench takes the title for best-looking bike with her third-generation Trek Speed Concept (in size small).
Moench’s Trek Speed Concept, size small, has an eye-catching pearlescent bright purple and sparkling blue finish. She rides Zipp wheels: a FR 858 NSW on the front and a Super-9 disc on the rear.
Her cockpit features Zipp’s Vuka Shift AXS 90 bars with an X-Lab Torpedo bottle cage tucked between the extensions and a Garmin Edge 830 computer (set on a built-in computer mount).
Moench runs SRAM hydraulic disc brakes for stopping power on her Zipp Super-9 rear wheel.
Moench’s SRAM Red chain is all waxed and ready for race day on her SRAM 54-41 chainring.
Her Zipp wheels are wrapped with Continental GP TT 25mm clincher tires, which she said she’ll likely run at 90 PSI on race day with latex tubes.
Moench knows how to win an Ironman race (she won Ironman Chattanooga last year)—and she knows how important it is to pay close attention to power and metrics. She’ll be doing that with the Garmin Edge 830 shown here. No third-party computer mount is needed with this set up as it comes built into the bars.
SRAM Red eTap Clics help Moench shift from the aero position.
Moench puts the power through her Look Keo Blade Carbon pedals on 165mm cranks.
Data comes from her QUARQ power meter.
SRAM AXS hydraulic brake levers with eTap Blips help Moench brake and shift while in the base bars.
Moench’s cockpit is dialed in and ready to go.
Moench is running SRAM AXS 12-speed with a 54-41 chainring and 10-33 cassette for IMWC this weekend.
Hydration will be the name of the game on Saturday and Moench will be using two Elite Crono CX bottles, as well as an X-Lab Torpedo bottle between her bars.
Moench rides the Bontrager Hilo Pro Carbon saddle.
