2023 Ironman World Championship runner-up Patrick Lange is in a class of his own when it comes to the Ironman marathon. Don’t believe us? Check out his day-best 2:32:41 run split, which he clocked en route to an 8:10:17 overall time. Post race, third-place finisher Magnus Ditlev said being passed by Lange on the run was “like a freight train” – fast, intense, and unstoppable.
The craziest part, however, is that he wanted to go even faster – his original goal for his run split was a 2:30. In this post-race interview with Triathlete, Lange talks about his run, his bike prep, and the importance of following a plan.
