If you’re going to win your first Ironman, you might as well win the 2023 Ironman World Championship. And while you’re at it, you might as well do it at the first-ever Ironman World Championship hosted in France, your home country. In the process, you could also become the first French triathlete to earn the title of Ironman World Champion. If you’re really an overachiever (and what triathlete isn’t?) you’ll do it at the age of 24, becoming the youngest male to wear the crown.
It’s all in a day’s work for Sam Laidlow, who made history (and a heck of a story) at the men’s 2023 Ironman World Championship in Nice, France.
