Swim.com adds a social element to otherwise solo sessions.

With the booming popularity of workout tracking sites like Strava, fitness is now more social than ever, even if you do most of your training solo. Swim.com makes swim training more social by letting users track and compare workouts online. What makes the site unique is that it’s the only platform compatible with all major swim watches.

“Swimming can be a lonely sport, even in a busy pool,” says Davis Wuolle of Swim.com. “Now with the wide variety of wearables on the market, we can offer swimmers an environment to compete, challenge and compare with others.”

The main features of Swim.com include swim activity tracking, competition through leader boards and the ability to share workouts and achievements through social media. You can see where you stack up to your friends at your local pool, club or within your age group. There’s also the potential to connect with others in your community by finding a pool or club, an especially useful feature if you’re new to an area or travel frequently.

The primary benefit of Swim.com, according to Wuolle, is the ability to help motivate swimmers. “In the past, smart watches were focused on data collection for analysis sake, but now we’ve built an ecosystem to share and motivate.”
