The hot and windy conditions of the 2011 Abu Dhabi International Triathlon meant that just finishing the 3km swim, 200km bike and 20km run was an accomplishment.

Triathlete.com has been following some of the best triathletes in the world as they train, scout the course and devour the massive buffet at the Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan hotel.

Germany's Faris Al-Sultan and his Team Abu Dhabi partners have arrived in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, a city outside of Abu Dhabi, to prepare for March 12's Abu Dhabi International Triathlon.

There is now speculation as to whether or not the race organization properly monitored the swimmers during the event.
