Video: Sebastian Kienle's Kona Comeback
Kienle went from leading the race to working for a top-10 spot off of the bike after he got a flat tire. He ultimately finished fourth.
2012 70.3 world champion Sebastian Kienle looked to be in the ideal position on the bike (leading the race with Belgium’s Marino Vanhoenacker) when he got a flat tire and spent a few minutes on the side of the road. By the time he re-mounted his bike Vanhoenacker and most of the main group were well ahead on the road. Despite that fact, Kienle got off the bike in seventh and ran his way to fourth. We chatted with Kienle after the race about the flat tire and what he learned from his rookie Kona performance.
