Although $100 seems a little steep, the new 110% compression quad sleeves make post-workout icing a lot more efficient than a bag of peas, and a lot less painful than an ice bath. They can be worn under a pair of shorts, and the four reusable ice packs simply slip into the sleeves through top openings. The compressive element ensures that they won’t fall down; just be sure to buy an appropriate size (there are six options). And don’t throw away the shiny silver package—it will keep ice sheets cold for up to six hours.

We recently also tried the shin/calf sleeves ($75) while driving after a run. The flexible material made them as wearable as a normal compression calf sleeve, and the ability to recover on-the-go was incredibly convenient. These sleeves are perfect for shin splint-prone athletes who want to target the whole lower leg at one time.

110% makes a full line of compression and ice wear that includes spot-specific garments as well as shorts and knickers.
