With typical swim paddles, the purpose is to build arm strength, but with a piece of rigid plastic covering your hand you lose a feel for the water. The ErgoFlex paddles serve the same purpose, but not at the same expense—the soft rubber frame follows the natural shape of the hand and helps promote good hand position in the water. Instead of sitting flat on a piece of hard plastic, the palm cups the paddle and lets the swimmer really feel the catch and pull phases. Thick, adjustable rubber straps hold the hand firmly but comfortably in place.
