This basic black option from Pearl Izumi has all of the technological details (Coldblack, quick-dry chamois, aero fabric), but is the simplest-looking kit tested. The all black makes the kit look like it would be hot, but Pearl Izumi says this piece is ideal for 70 to 100 degrees F, and testing confirms its comfort in the heat. The longer sleeves are extremely comfortable and provide great protection from the elements, as well as strong aerodynamic assistance. With its all-black profile, the kit is extremely flattering and forgiving. While this suit is impressive overall, the pad doesn’t measure up to others in this category.
