The Draw: Middle-Ground at a Middle Price
The Plasma 10 is a great choice for athletes looking for something that works well for most people, with a strong spec that leaves loads of room for adjustment at all levels. The frame’s ride is similarly not too rough and not too soft; acceleration is surprisingly punchy (thanks to overbuilt carbon tubes and a super-burly bottom bracket). While this is one of the least aero-looking bikes (Scott’s aero tech is actually quite good), the Plasma 10 also handles more like a well-rounded road bike than a twitchy tri rig. This is a good thing. At the same time, the super-wide top tube could become an issue for riders with big thighs—especially on standing climbs—so be sure to give it a test ride.
