Argon’s tradition of making some very nimble, aggressive bikes still holds strong with the E-117. Though notably not as out-of-the box fiercely aggressive as its big brother, the E-119 Tri (and much more mechanic-friendly than the E-119), the E-117 still cuts corners like a scalpel and accelerates at the top of its class. The ride quality on this setup leans slightly on the less-soft side—without being too rough—most ideal for smooth roads or mid-distance racing. The big win here is getting an Ultegra Di2 shifter on a super-fast carbon frame for right at $5k. To make this a truly race-ready setup, one would certainly want to upgrade the wheelset to something carbon and deep, but the fact that they’re not included gives options (and flexibility) to buy something later on.
