If you’re a parent to young kids and a triathlete, you probably have to juggle training with childcare on an ongoing basis. For many of us, the answer to that perpetual concern comes in the form of a jog stroller. But not all jog strollers are created equal.
My last one was an unwieldy beast that I had to wrestle each time I wanted to make a turn. The clumsiness and extra effort were just necessary evils of pushing my kid along for my training run.
Or so I thought. The BOB brand of strollers recently introduced its Ironman-branded kiddie ride—a stroller designed for the long haul, though equally appropriate for meandering through the grocery store.
The first thing you’ll notice is the ease of handling and smooth ride. Also, the frame breaks down in a simple two-step process for easy portability. For babies, the accessory adapter lets you drop in your car seat for an extra secure ride. A sleek design and lightweight alloy wheels reduce the clunky factor, and the cargo basket and numerous pockets allow plenty of room to stash toys and power gels for long runs. The M-dot logo on the canopy serves as a little training motivation, too.
