Though known more for his run than his bike, American Matt Hanson understands you’ve got to ride well to stay in the hunt in Kona. With a series of encouraging performances this year, Hanson is returning to the Big Island for redemption after a disappointing DNF at his last Hawaii IMWC in 2019. Check out the nitty-gritty details of his Quintana Roo V-PR’s specs and sizes below.

Hanson will be riding longtime sponsor Quintana Roo’s new V-PR in a size 54 with a custom paint job to match his race kit.
His drivetrain consists of Shimano Dura-Ace 12 speed with a 170mm crank and a 54/42 chainring—including a Dura-Ace powermeter and pedals.
Like many pros, Hanson is supplementing his hydration with a (unbranded) downtube water bottle mounted onto his striking custom-painted frame.
For emergencies, Hanson will rely on the rear-mounted storage integrated into his V-PR frameset.
Hanson is using Continental GP5000 TdF LTD edition 700x25mm tires mounted on a Ron Aeron V6 front/ V8 rear wheelset.
The latest trend among pros is a deep-cupped aerobar setup, and Hanson is no exception. Here, he’s using a very sleek Drag2Zero prototype and a Profile Design Aeria front hydration system.
Hanson will check out his data on race day with a Garmin 520 (not pictured) attached to a 76 Projects TT mount.
Hanson is relying on a behind-the-saddle Specialized direct-mount Reserve Rack and a XLab Gorilla XT carbon cage, mounted to an ISM PN 3.0.
