Dane Miki Taagholt burst onto the long-course radar back in 2021 with a runner-up finish at 70.3 Oceanside and a fourth place at 70.3 World Championships. The next year found him in the 70.3 WC top ten, and this year he’s already landed a win at 70.3 Luxembourg. Using a balanced swim/bike/run attack, Taagholt will still need a strong bike to stick with the big guns this weekend in Milwaukee.
We take a close look at his Felt’s setup for the U.S. Open.
Taagholt is part of a stellar lineup of triathlon stars racing The PTO U.S. Open this weekend – check out our preview of the men’s and women’s pro races here.
Miki Taagholt from Denmark will be using a Felt IA Advanced in size 56 with some very specific components to tackle the course in Milwaukee.
Taagholt will use a Quarq zero power meter on his 1x 56t Drag2Zero chainring. He’ll have Speedplay Zero pedals mounted at the end of his 172.5mm crank arms.
Boasting a Ceramicspeed Aero OSPW pulley and UFO chain, Taagholt is still deciding on a 10-30 or a 10-28 cassette for the SRAM Force AXS 12-speed shifting system on race day.
Taagholt will use a Enve SES disc rear wheel with Schwalbe Pro One TT 25mm rear tubeless tires at 80 psi.
Up front, Taagholt has a very specific setup—an Enve SES 6.7 front wheel with Schwalbe Pro One TT 28mm tires at 72 psi for race day.
Taagholt’s cockpit features Aerocoach Angles carbon aerobar extensions at 35 degrees mounted to a Profile Design Wing and a Garmin 530 cycling computer.
A 135mm Fizik Mistica is Taagholt’s saddle of choice.
On race day, Taagholt will use two bottles on the bike—one aero bottle on the frame and a regular bottle behind the saddle—for hydration.
