Fresh off a win at Ironman Texas only two weeks ago, American Rudy Von Berg has been steadily climbing the ranks with three podium finishes in 2022—including a win at IM France in June. Looking to build off that momentum, expect Von Berg to combine a strong swim with an even stronger bike leg. We take a close look at the Trek Speed Concept that he’ll be using this weekend in Ibiza at the PTO European Open.
At the PTO European Open, Rudy Von Berg will be riding an XL Trek Speed Concept.
Von Berg will be racing with SRAM Red AXS wireless 12-speed and a 10-28 cassette. He’s also selected a Cadex disc rear wheel.
Unique details include an ice friction treated SRAM chain.
Here, Von Berg has a 58t 1x SRAM Quarq power meter drivetrain (he’ll be racing Ibiza with a 54t/41t double chainring).
Up front Von Berg is planing on running a Cadex Four Spoke with 25mm Continental GP5000 TT at 78psi (same on the rear).
Von Berg’s cockpit consists of a between-the-arms hydration system mounted on a 51 Speedshop Rev pair of aerobars with high-sided pads.
Another look at Von Berg’s aero cockpit system—he’ll be using a Garmin Edge 830 to monitor and record data.
Von Berg’s Trek Speed Concept has a special UCI Pro Tour deep blue light spray paint.
