Heading into this weekend’s PTO European Pro Open ranked number eight in the world, France’s Leon Chevalier is hot off a win at IM South Africa at the beginning of March. The 26-year-old started his career in short-course racing, but quickly graduated to longer distances and has wins at Embrun, Ironman Mallorca, and the Alpe D’Huez Long course alongside a breakthrough top 10 last year at Ironman Hawaii where he placed seventh off the back of a strong bike/run combo. Look for Chevalier to move up during the bike leg on his Cervelo P5 with a few custom touches.
Leon Chevalier’s Cervelo P5 is a size 54 and boasts a few interesting bits like a prototype set of aerobars and a huge 58t 1x chainring.
Chevalier will be using a HED Vanquish RCD Pro disc wheel for his race on Saturday with a Vanquish RC8 Pro in the front, both with Continental GP5000 S TR 28mm tires. To spread the 1x gearing, he’s running an Ultegra 12-speed 11-34 cassette in the back.
The Frenchman will be running a CeramicSpeed OSPW Aero rear derailleur cage/pulley with a KMC 12-speed 1x chain.
A 1x chainring setup with a monster 58t Pyramid Cycling Designs chainring and 170mm cranks are mounted to a Rotor 2inPower power meter and Look Keo Blade Carbon pedals.
To help with nutrition, Chevalier has a top-tube mounted bento box.
Chevalier’s setup is unique with a prototype Drag2Zero aerobar and between-the-bars hydration.
All of Chevailer’s data will be monitored and recorded by a Garmin Edge 530.
Chevalier has mounted a bottle behind his ISM PN3.0 saddle.
