Two-time Olympic gold medalist Alistair Brownlee was stellar on Saturday in his first 70.3 against a tough field. Brownlee put together a 23:18 swim, a 2:01:39 bike and a 1:14:49 half-marathon to lead from nearly start to finish and take the victory in a course-record time of 3:41:58. He says he’s gained confidence from this victory and is excited to get “fitter and faster” ahead of this fall’s Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Chattanooga, Tenn.
