Kyle Leto (USA), Cameron Dye (USA), Don, Eric Limkemann (USA) and Kevin Collington (USA) were first into T1, all exiting the water around the 23-minute mark. Dye took the early lead but was eventually joined by strong cyclist Andrew Yoder (USA), with another super biker, Andrew Starykowicz (USA), chasing not far behind. Dye was first into T2, with Yoder right behind. Starykowicz was next with Don, Limkemann and Collington making up the first chase group. Don came out with fiery pace that couldn’t be matched by anyone. He took the lead at the 7.5-mile mark and never looked back. He turned in a race-best 37:57 run split to claim the 2:58:08 victory. Dye maintained a steady pace to finish second, with Collington rounding out the top three.
In the women’s race, it was super swimmer Hayley Chura (USA) first into T1, with Jennifer Spieldenner (USA), Anna Cleaver (USA), Lauren Goss (USA), Vodickova and Jillian Petersen (USA) chasing. Vodickova, Goss, Petersen and Cleaver maintained a similar pace, with no one taking a significant lead throughout the bike. Petersen was first to start the run with Vodickova and Goss hot on her heels. Vodickova showcased the run form that has propelled her to several titles this season and quickly took the lead. Her 42:30 run was the best of the day, giving her the 3:21:41 victory. Petersen rounded out her strong day with a solid run to claim second. American Rebeccah Wassner ran her way up to third.
Preliminarily, it looks like Limkemann and Goss earned the Rev3 Series Championship. According to Rev3tri.com, they will each earn a $25,000 bonus with the top-10 finishers for both the men and women also earning bonuses.
