The Revolution3 Triathlon Series, which in 2015 had partnered with Challenge Family to become part of the Challenge Family Americas Series of races, will be re-launching in 2016 under the Rev3 brand. Existing under the parent company ATP (All Things Possible) Productions, inc., owned by Charlie Patten and led by president Eric Opdyke, Rev3 will continue with the same details that made it unique since its launch in 2008.
Rev3 has been known for being family-friendly races in venues that appeal to kids and parents alike, offering a family finish line, providing free finish line photos and creating safe, well-marked courses. The “made in America” race series plans to add other enhancements in 2016 to make the race experience even better for athletes and their families. Rev3 will focus on race venues on the East Coast, in many of the same markets where they’ve already established races.
“I am beyond excited to announce that Rev3 will be back and better than ever in 2016,” said Patten, CEO of ATP, in a press release. “We under-estimated the power of the all-American Rev3 brand, and our entire crew is itching to be ‘back in blue’!”
Additionally, ATP will outsource race production services, such as race planning, race directing, T-shirt printing, graphic design and equipment rental, to other event directors.
There was no mention in the press release of having pro prize purses return with the re-launch. Registration for some 2016 events will open in early October and will include kids, sprint, Olympic, half-iron and full-iron-distance events.
The 2016 races announced so far are:
Rev3 Knoxville (Tennessee), May 14-15
Rev3 Quassy (Middlebury, Conn.), June 4-5
Rev3 Williamsburg (Virginia), Date TBD
Rev3 Pocono Mountains (Pennsylvania), Aug. 7
Rev3 Maine (Old Orchard Beach, Maine), Aug. 28
