Vicky Holland Gets Breakthrough Win At WTS Cape Town

With American Gwen Jorgensen—who has won eight-straight WTS races—choosing to sit out WTS Cape Town in favor of getting in some solid training, the opportunity was open for a new name to break through and grab a WTS title. In the end it was Great Britain’s Vicky Holland who took advantage, running her way to the first WTS win of her career. American Katie Zaferes earned her fourth-straight WTS podium finish and 2012 Olympic gold medalist Nicola Spirig showed signs of what made her an Olympic champion, competing just one week after finishing a marathon and finishing third.
