Canada’s Lionel Sanders made a big statement after his record-breaking performance at Ironman Arizona last year, saying that he would not aim to compete in the 2017 Ironman World Championship so that he could focus on the win and the 70.3 distance. Sanders dominated Saturday’s Ironman 70.3 Oceanside, and says his biggest takeaway from the win is his stellar swim performance.
