Life Time has announced a few changes in the course for the 2013 LeadmanTri Bend triathlon, which will take place on Sept. 21. This will be the second running of the Bend event.
“In 2012 we hosted more than 400 LeadmanTri Bend racers on a challenging and epic course,” said Keith Hughes, LeadmanTri Bend race director in the press release. “As with any event produced by Life Time, safety and race experience are two of our top priorities. Last year, participants faced roundabouts and traffic congestion during the last five miles of the bike course. To eliminate this experience, we moved T2 to Summit High School and we believe the course will be even more epic in 2013.”
Leadman Tri Bend also has an updated run course for 2013 that will take place almost entirely on paved trails with virtually no intersections to cross. The two-loop course is spectator-friendly and athletes will now be able to park right next to T2 and catch the morning swim bus all at the same place. Athletes will end their race at a new finish line in NorthWest Crossing featuring the Twin Sisters mountains as the backdrop.
