Australia’s Brad Kahlefeldt and the Czech Republic’s Radka Vodickova prevailed on a hot and humid day at Ironman 70.3 Putrajaya in Malaysia.
Kahlefeldt combined a 24:52 swim, a 2:13:14 bike and a 1:15:08 run to claim the 3:55:36 victory. France’s Denis Chevrot earned second two minutes later, with Australia’s John Polson rounding out the top three nine minutes back of Chevrot.
Vodickova’s 4:23:09 win came thanks to a 26:42 swim, a 2:31:27 bike and a dominant 1:22:11 half-marathon. Great Britain’s Liz Blatchford blew away the competition on the swim and bike before struggling in the heat to finish second. Australia’s Dimity-Lee Duke claimed third.
