Island House Invitational Triathlon organizers released the final start list ahead of this weekend’s event and, as expected, it features a star-studded lineup. Olympians and world champions are preparing for three days of thrilling competition in the beautiful Bahamas. Competitors will battle it out in an elimination format for a chance to take home part of the $500,000 prize purse.

This summer’s gold medalist Gwen Jorgensen returns as the defending champion for the women, and she’ll be joined by Olympic teammates Katie Zaferes and Sarah True. Also lining up will be reigning XTERRA and ITU world champion Flora Duffy of Bermuda. Newly crowned Ironman 70.3 world champion Holly Lawrence (GBR) and three-time Ironman world champion Mirinda Carfrae (AUS) will also make the start.

On the men’s side, ITU world champion Mario Mola and reigning U-23 champion Jorik van Egdom, as well as world duathlon champion Richard Murray, headline the field for the short-course athletes.

Leading the charge for the long-course athletes are Ironman 70.3 world champion Tim Reed and former Ironman world champion Sebastian Kienle.

The Format

The three days of competition include individual time trial events over swim, bike and run, as well as an Enduro event before culminating on day three with a sprint-distance race on the private island of Highbourne Cay.
