Mirinda Carfrae’s third Ironman World Championship victory didn’t look like a possibility when she exited the bike more than 14 minutes behind then race leader Daniela Ryf. Carfrae broke her own marathon course record, propelling herself to the front and giving her the third Ironman world title of her career.
