Seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong has confirmed that he will not be racing at the 2011 Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
As is usually the case with Armstrong, the confirmation came over Twitter:
@LanceArmstrong: “no Kona for me. Unless hangin out, riding bikes, and swimming w/ whales over the holidays count.”
Buzz that Armstrong would definitely not be racing on the Big Island this fall came yesterday when he tweeted that he was eyeing the 2011 Chicago Marathon for this year, which is set to take place on the same weekend as the 2011 Ironman World Championship.
