More than 2,300 athletes converged on the Adirondack Mountains for the 20th running of the Ironman Lake Placid triathlon. American Heather Jackson validated her Kona slot and took the victory with an impressive wire-to-wire win in 9:18:49. Canada’s Jen Annett finished second, with the United States’ Sarah Piampiano rounding out the podium.
