It was a magical day in Almere, the Netherlands at the Challenge Almere Amsterdam triathlon on Saturday, Sept. 14. South African Matt Trautman posted a spectacular course record time of 7:50:15. In the women’s race, Yvonne van Vlerken ended her career with a victory in 8:56:10.

“This is…I have no words for it,” Van Vlerken said through tears at the finish line. “This is so important. I wanted to end my career so badly in a beautiful way. And it happened now.”
