The 30th anniversary of Challenge Roth on Sunday will feature some of the best iron-distance triathletes in the world, and most of them will also be favorites in October at the Ironman World Championship. The question many are asking is “is it possible to be in top shape for Roth and Kona?” Eneko Llanos gave his take:
“It’s difficult it be 100% in both races because they are really close, but I feel like I’m OK here. I’m in good shape, but I feel like maybe I have a bit more to do. I’m saving that for later. For me, this year Kona is the big goal, but I also want to do very well here. I think I’m in good shape, but I think that if I take a good recovery I still have more to give because the first part of the season I took it really easy. I think I can race very fast here and be in good shape for Kona.”
