After withdrawing from the 2018 Ironman World Championship during race week due to injury, American Ben Hoffman says it was his gratitude to be on the race course that fueled his fourth-place finish on Saturday. Hoffman was part of the chase pack on the bike, and then used a 2:43:08 marathon–the second fastest of the day–to run his way from 14th off the bike to fourth at the finish line.
