While athletes were battling the heat wave at both Ironman France and the Ironman European Championships in Frankfurt over the weekend, age-group competitors battled a rainy day at Ironman and 70.3 Haugesund in Norway.
The course offers one of the best opportunities to compete in the raw and wild nature, with fjords and mountains providing a stunning backdrop for triathlon. Athletes took on a 2.4-mile swim in the lake Skeisvatnet, rode a two-lap 112-mile bike ride up, down, and around the breathtaking scenery, and then finished off with a four-lap marathon through an excited crowd.
