Brownlee takes his signature run style on to the tough St. George half-marathon.
Social media is buzzing with excitement over triathlon’s new long-course star.
Alistair Brownlee didn’t just win his the Ironman 70.3 North American Championship at only his second attempt at the distance—he obliterated the course record. Brownlee’s 3:41:58 on one of the toughest 70.3 courses in the world proved that his swim-bike-run talent isn’t limited to the Olympic distance (where, of course, he holds two gold medals).
As second-place finisher Lionel Sanders said in a post-race tweet, “We have officially entered the New Era.” Sanders isn’t the only one noting Brownlee’s guns-blazing performance—social media in the triathlon community is buzzing with excitement over the new long-course star.
And, of course, Alistair Brownlee got the last word. #winning (See the final post.)
