50 Athletes Conquer 2019 Iceland Extreme Triathlon

The 2019 Iceland Extreme Triathlon started at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27 with the 3km swim in the town of Grundarfjörður. Athletes then traversed most of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula for the 180km bike course before finishing in the town of Olafsvik. They then conquered the 42km run course journey up and down the backside of Snæfellsjökull glacier, which had them taking on a total of 1350m of ascent.
