While you’re out dominating your marathon, your friends and family are positioned along the course, armed with cowbells and signs, patiently waiting for a glimpse as you run by.
They wait.
And wait.
And wait.
And wish someone had told them to bring a book.
Let’s face it: The time spent on the race course flies by for you, but for your loyal spectathletes on the curb, it’s hours of lingering. Luckily, race day gives spectathletes a people-watching experience better than any trip to Wal-Mart. Give your spectathletes some Triathlon Bingo cards and promise to buy the winner extra pancakes at your post-race breakfast.
