USA Triathlon, in conjunction with the International Triathlon Union, has launched Trifecta, a new triathlon fantasy game that allows multisport fans to predict the elite men’s and women’s podium finishers at each ITU World Triathlon Series event.

See the announcement from USA Triathlon below:

Triathletes, fans and multisport enthusiasts can create an account now at Trifecta.usatriathlon.org and select their podium picks for this weekend’s ITU World Triathlon Series opener in Auckland, New Zealand. Trifecta players can follow the events live on triathlonlive.tv and points will be awarded for correctly predicting podium finishers. Players who select all three podium finishers in the correct order will receive a 20 point Trifecta bonus. Individual player results will be made available following each race, and players can see how they stack up against others on the Global Leaderboard. The standings will accumulate throughout the season, with an overall winner being crowned following the ITU World Triathlon Series Grand Final in Edmonton, Canada.

“Trifecta is a fun and exciting way for American triathlon fans to engage in the World Triathlon Series, and for all triathlon enthusiasts worldwide,” said Marisol Casado, ITU President and IOC Member. “USA Triathlon’s initiative to develop the fantasy game is a phenomenal example of how National Federations can use the World Triathlon Series to engage their membership in the sport of triathlon.”

“The level of competition at the ITU World Triathlon Series is unmatched and we wanted to create general awareness for each of the eight events and the very compelling triathlonlive.tv broadcasts,” said Rob Urbach, USA Triathlon CEO. “Trifecta enables the greater triathlon community to engage in the World Triathlon Series, which features fiercely competitive swims, mastery of the chaos of transition, tight draft-legal bike racing and sprint finishes.”

The ITU World Triathlon Series kicks off with the elite women scheduled to start at noon local time on April 6 in Auckland, New Zealand, and the men set to start at 3 p.m. local time. With the time difference, the events will start at 8 p.m. ET and 11 p.m. ET on April 5 and will be broadcast live on triathlonlive.tv.

USA Triathlon annual members receive a 20 percent discount on the Triathlon Live TV season pass and can login at usatriathlon.org to access the discount code.
