Sad news coming out of the NYC Triathlon today. A 64-year-old participant in the Nautica New York City Triathlon passed away during the swim portion of the event. Michael Kudryk of Freehold, N.J. was pulled out of the Hudson River after going into cardiac arrest.

“On behalf of all of us in the triathlon community, our thoughts and prayers are with the athletes and their loved ones,” said Bill Burke, the event’s race director.
